The core of the unit is the market-proven Xylem D5 PWM water pump. This unit offers increased hydraulic performance (up to 15 %) compared to original factory top. The EK-XRES Revo D5 series features a fully rounded design thus offering greater usability, allowing installation at any angle within 360° of rotation. Special rubber shock absorber is used to de-couple the the main pump body from the mounting clip for silent operation, free of vibration induced noise. Additionaly, horizontal and vertical positioning are supported for easier tube routing possibilities. EK-XRES 100 Revo D5 series reservoirs comes preinstalled with anti-cyclone insert. While it may not boast the same capacity as some of the similarly priced Thermaltake Pump/Res combos, it makes up for this in quality. The pump speed is dynamically controlled via a PWM header. The pump itself is powered by a simple 12V Molex connector. The intake being at the base of the res, near the output, is extremely helpful in reducing the amount of air introduced during your first boot with the water cooling system. Additionally, this pump is pretty quite.The only thing I don't like about this pump is the lack of mounting options (they only really give you one way to mount the pump; which may involve you drilling some holes in your case). If they perhaps included an alternative mounting solution (or perhaps one of their 120mm fan mounting brackets for the pump) there would be no arguing with this pump. ### ⭐⭐ Great pump/resivior combo. But it turns out my pump (the same exact type) was just fine, and I run it a lot it has run ar least 50% of the time during that 5 years nonstop. It used to be part of a server setup that never shut down for 3 years straight with no issues. I highly reccomend this item.
