Is it permanently plugged in? Thank you** A: Depends on how bad the damp problem is; ours took 3-4 days to extract 500ml from a relatively musty smelling damp corner of a room - it is still permanently plugged in. Switches itself off after reaching maximum capacity. **Q: Does the filter need changing?** A: I've been using the dehumidifier for 10 hours a day for the last several weeks in my caravan. Excellent little machine. But I cannot see any filter which might need changing. I suspect there is not a cleanable / renewable filter. **Q: Can I check that the 12v adaptor is suitable for a car cigarette lighter style power source?** A: The adapter in this equipment is similar to as you use in a laptop adapter. One side of input goes to the 220V power supply on the wall plug. Other end of the wire is a female 2 point which plugs into the equipment snugly. In between is the black transformer box which converts the voltage. **Q: Has anyone actually used the 12volt plug in their vehicle?looking for campervan.** A: Depending on which version you get, most are identical except some have 9v DC & some have 10.5v. Compact and perfect to keep in our caravan to ensure that damp doesn’t affect it in the winter. It stops the black mound which grows on the walls in the corners of the room.They are more discrete than a big dehumidifier and can fit in corners or behind the books on shelves.
