Please help and is there any clicking sound?** A: We tested the 164 among other brands and models at the store, and found 164 has the best sound that very similar to real piano. We ended up buying 184 since 164 is discountinued. We had the piano for over a week and my 6 years old daughter loves it so much and started practicing everyday. I love piano music and am sensitive to the sound, and I am satisfied with 184's sound quality. I agreed you wouldn't get any model lower than this. **Q: Are there any complaints about the arius 184? Please let me know!** A: Here are my pet peeves: 1) The note B2 (one octave and half tone lower than the middle C) has some resonance. It sounds differently and a bid louder. I doubt that a real grand piano has this problem. Most likely it is the resonance frequency of the Yamaha acoustic box. If you play in headphones, B2 sounds normal. They could have compensated it electronically better. Not a big deal, but noticeable when you play beginner music, which contains less notes to be played at the same time. B2 stands out a bit. 2) I am sure it does not has to be this heavy to reproduce sounds well. I would be more forgiving the weight, if it were an ideal sound, but they could not do that for B2 anyway. 3) The hanger for the headphones has too little clearance to put my headphones in. Many headphones have wide pads on the top, so the top of the headphone is not narrow - and it will not fit into the clearance. 4) 2 headphone inputs, excellent, but it is not 3.5mm jack, but the large one. Why? I know there are adapters, but majority of the headphones uses 3.5mm. It is not studio equipment, but piano for home use. Although, I must admit it is easier to find the larger hole. But that's another problem - the hole is not easily accessible. Not a big problem, just a minor inconvenience. 5) No Bluetooth, no WiFi, can't connect iPad/iPhone through USB. There is $100 adapter for WiFi, so iPad can be connected that way, but why is it not this build into $2,500 piece? And why can't I connect to USB port directly with iPad? I am sure more people want to connect their iPads to this, than to use, for example, midi inputs/outputs (that are present). It just looks like they force you to buy this adapter to get another $100 from you, especially given the fact that the direct wired USB connection is not working (while it works on other Yamaha keyboards, per documentation on their website). It just does not feel right. This sweet little thing arrived on my doorstep on 29 November 2025. It was packaged in such a way that all parts were securely tucked in and protected so shipping and handling did not cause any damage to any of the components.Set up was a beeze and did not require any type of special tools to assemble. There were basically three parts that required assembly ; the bench, the music rack, and the foundation for the keyboard to rest on.The instruction manual, written in several languages, was very thorough and easy to inderstand, and included instructions along with illustrations describing all the features and functionality which proved to be very helpful. It also came with an easy / moderately easy book of classical music.Now onto the keyboard itself...You will enjoy the authentic piano feel, touch sensitivity high-quality sound, and beginner-friendly features. There are 88 Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) weighted keys that mimic an acoustic piano's touch. In addition, there is a built-in song library showcasing the various 10 different voices that include Grand Piano, Mellow Grand, Pop Grand, Strings. Vibraphone, Electric Piano, Jazz Organ, Pipe Organ, Harpsicord, Electric Piano,that can be played on full keyboard (same sound on all 88 keys), a split voice where half of the keyboard can use a selected voice, while the other half can use a different voice, and the dual functionality, where you can program the keyboard the play 2 voices at the same time. There is a keyboard "dust cover" as well. My favorite is playing Grand Piano coupled with strings. It soundS AWESOME.There a Metronome functionality which is a great compliment to this piano.
