After receiving my first angora wig made by the very talented sophymolly I was in love with the material and my decision to try it was made. I found some youtube tutorials but none of them answered all my questions. Then we moved and other things happened and my boy had to live with his puffy leekeworld wig. In autumn I found Jesslyn Carvers youtube chanel (LINK) and the wish grew anew. Although her videos are not meant to be pure tutorials I got a good picture of what awaits me.In December arrived my material which I bought after her recommendation in one of her videos but “luckily” I had no time. In January I found this book and after finding out it was from her I ordered it. This was a good thing because I never saw such an in-depth self-learning book.In her book she shows every step from which materials to choose for different techniques to the very last steps for a perfect wig.The book starts with a short introduction in which she talks about her very own journey of wig making and how to use her book.In chapter 1 she covered the different materials, which she prefers for what and why. She also covered which materials could work and which won't, where you can find them and which form they can come (already processed or unprocessed etc.)Chapter 2 covers the process of how to wash the hair, which materials you need and tactics on how to survive this boring process successfully.Chapter 3 is about planning the style of the wig and which decisions should be made before you start.Chapter 4 covers the dying process, which materials you should choose to not harm you doll and some care tips like the right way of combing.Chapter 5 Shows in depth two ways of making a wig cap and she explains which cap she prefer for her in this book covered techniques (gluing method, rooting and a mix of both)Chapter 6 finally shows the attaching of the hair. The process is good described like everything in this book and easy to follow.Chapter 7 covers a bonus technique on how to make a punched wig.Chapter 8 shows how to take your wig further to perfection with blending and also shows how to make shaved looks for undercuts and side cuts.Chapter 9 showing finishing touches and how to safe your wig when you messed up when cutting the wig cap or what to do if the wig cap runs bigger after finishing it because the material got stretched while the process. It also gives some ideas of cutting and styling.The book close with a short FAQ which covers the very last questions I had after reading and some words about her.As already mentioned this is a very good in-depth book. After reading it I have no questions about wig making anymore and will finally tackle the challenge. You can feel the passion she has for her crew and the will to educate everyone else as good as possible. The book is written in a very personal way with sprinkles of humor which is super likable and refreshing. As a not native English speaker I find it easy to understand and follow. The pictures are clear, underline her words perfectly and are nicely printed which I didn't though is possible at this price point. I had more expensive tutorial books with worse pictures.I recommend everyone getting this book beforehand. You may also think about getting a head for experimenting with (like the practice heads from doll family a/h). She described which materials to use and how to protect your doll but depending on the country you live in it could be necessary to find other products (especially for the cleaning and dying process).Her book does not cover how to make wigs from synthetic fiber. It's mentioned in the book but not recommended. But I think if you want a synthetic wig you can easily go and find a shop. ### ⭐ Only covers basic glued wigs *by O***H on Reviewed in the United States on August 6, 2019* I thought this might be more detailed that what I found on the internet and it isn't. In fact the only wigs gone over are glued ones and long hair only. You can find all this information on the internet. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Okay book *by R***' on Reviewed in the United States on November 22, 2019* Okay book. I wish the author had talked more about using synthetic hair for wigs.
