I needed a couple of new collars for my dog to wear. The ones I am replacing were cotton and printed and I loved that about them, but they were limited edition designer brand items and were no longer available. I searched amazon for just the right thing and I fell in LOVE with this brand!FABRIC: The cotton is so soft and the prints are absolutely beautiful! The cotton has just the right amount of thickness. The collars I replaced were 1/2" so I was look for something close to this. I have already machine washed/air dried this one and it came out perfect!COLORS: The images are true to what I received. Vibrant beautiful color! Has stayed vibrant through wearing and washing.SIZING: I have a 9 year old shih tzu. The average size range for this breed is 9-16 lbs. Mine is around 9.5 lbs so she is on the small side. I ordered t color first in a Small as was suggested by the sizing chart. Her neck measurement is on the border of XS and S. I went on the safe side and ordered the Small in 5/8". When it came in, I ran the slide around over half way and it fits her well but my second Ruff Roxy collar (Dream Chaser) I ordered in an XS (I like the 1/2" thickness better) and it fits PERFECT! The slide is close to the end so I would definitely recommend looking at the measurements listed for each size before ordering for your dog. I took out a ruler and the max length on both collars measures exactly on point with the listing.DURABILITY: My dog is 9 and shih tzus don't require much exercise. My experience with cotton collars tells me they hold up great for her level of activity. She is not super active. Her favorite thing to do is sleeping in the yard...followed by sleeping on the couch. She plays fetch for about 10 minutes a day and doesn't get into much trouble. This collar will be no problem at all for her. They are sturdy and sewn well. When leashed, it holds up well at the park when she tries to make a break for it and meet new people.My dog has her own wish list and it is just filled up with these Ruff Roxy collars now. I can't wait to order a few more and to add some holiday themed ones as well!! Awesome item! Well made and beautiful! Its on our mini dachshund puppy and she doesn't use a leash so I can't speak to how it holds up to being used under pressure with a leash consistently.
