It is subtle, classy and it is real wood on the casing and the back. The leather strap is really nice too, fairly stiff but is very comfortable on my wrist. The face of the leather has a lovely texture. If you are looking for something a little different, very comfortable and made of natural materials instead of resin or plastic then I recommend this piece. It is also really lightweight, I can barely tell I am wearing it. The workmanship is great, mine has a small tool mark which I love simply because it is unique to this watch, slight imperfections just add to the quality. I have already ordered another as a gift and I am considering ordering a third for my dad who was a joiner by profession so will likely love a wooden watch too ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Five Stars *by D***S on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 March 2018* Excellent what more can I say ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Wonderful Wooden Watch. *by G***K on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 November 2016* This a fabulous looking watch that makes a wonderful gift.The moment you receive this watch you smile.When you open it you simply cannot fail to be impressed.It looks wonderful.The wood is a really dark, ‘Bourneville’ chocolate colour and looks fabulous.Each watch is unique simply because they are made from wood. The grain varies from tree to tree. But you simply would not suspect that this watch is made from wood from a distance or until you felt how whisper light (that chocolate reference again) it is.The dial is that dark wood again with silver hour, minute and second sweep movements of the hands with a smart dagger like design.The hours are in a matching, smart silver Arabic font with the 3..6..9 and 12 that contrasts well with the matte brown case.In natural light it is easy to read the time which is what a watch is for but some fashion conscious watch makers seem to forget.True there is no date function but then would you really need one with this type of watch?At the watches heart is a Japanese movement and believe me those Japanese know all about making great watch movements.The accuracy being quartz actually means this watch will out perform my best Rolex and Seiko automatics for time keeping.On the wrist it looks fabulous. (anywhere else is up to you)The natural wood goes with most outfits although Summer with a light tee shirt will really show it in all its glory.This is a watch that will get compliments believe me.The wood is light in weight- you forget you have a watch and being made from wood feels warm in the cold and cool in the heat.The strap is a really good quality leather. Thick robust and ridged.Some people often complain about this wanting softer more flexible straps.Believe me the strap will adapt to your wrists contours naturally and out last thos soft flexible straps by years.It is a really good quality leather and has that fact along with the makers name embossed on the inside. It also smells good much better that those cheaper straps where the smell of the tanners chemicals could stun a Rhinoceros at 10 yards.Being leather means that you have no problems with adjusting. You do not have the task of either getting a Jeweller to do this for you for around a fiver as you would have to with a metal or linked bracelet.Now other wooden watches I have received have wooden straps. That is fine. But myself I much prefer this leather strap that feels much more secure that the light weight wood ones.If this is a gift for someone then you will need to wrap the watch up to gain the best impression. The box it comes in is a simple cardboard.
