I had my doubts but it towed my classic mk2 VW Golf GTI which only weighs 2,100 lb with no problems whatsoever. Other than that, the reason I gave it four stars instead of five is, I just feel that the nuts that secure the two swivel long black bars that connect to the bumper and the grey head just need to be a little thicker instead of half inch nuts and studs. This is for peace of mind but I do realize that it's probably perfectly okay to secure with 4 tiny 1/2-in nuts at the meeting point of the grey hitch. Other than that like I said it towed very beautifully. Now I did add extra chains to the vehicle's actual tow hitch bumper brackets secure to the vehicle in case there was a separation in an unforeseeable failure.
