Bought for my son who just got a Samurai sword and was recommended this product by a few different people. It’s worked great the last few months of having it. Will definitely be buying more when we run out.Quality product!!

TERRIBLE PRODUCT 2 FOR 2
The media could not be loaded. BOUGHT THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE TWICE! They obviously do not give a damn about quality control because both of my kits have had spilled oil. 0/10 I will NEVER purchase another item from Mini Katana, their swords are similar in quality, anyone interested in this product or anything by MiniKatana needs to seriously reconsider.

Great for sword collectors
This set is great for sword collectors, it's reasonably priced and has everything you'd need to do at least one deep cleaning of your katana or other blade and also has a peg hammer and replacement pegs if your blade is a katana. To continue using the kit or to clean multiple blades, you'll need either additional cloths or an alternative cloth. Soft cotton, flannel, or even a paper towel (if you can't get a soft cloth) can work. The hammer and pegs are only relevant to katanas but everything else works well on any type of blade. I have 9 blades that I clean (3 of which are katanas) and this cleans them all well. It's a nice starter kit. If you live in a particularly moist area of the world (which I do) you may have to clean your bade monthly and if you have a lot of blades (which I do) this is enough to last for a while, but eventually when you run of oil it's probably better to just buy a new (usually larger) bottle of choji oil (or another type of blade oil) unless your Uchiko (powdered ball) is all out of powder and then it's cheaper to just buy a new kit. This kit will help you properly maintain any of your blades and is easy to use and modestly priced.

Alright
Everything was good except oil was spilt so you need to buy more from a different brand (I recommend Choji oil from Tiny Tinyroots it's 13 dollars)

Its a good set
Overall nice cleaning kit. Realistically you could just use oil and a cleaning cloth. This is more so to enjoy the cultural aspect of cleaning a Katana imo. The Choji oil bottle came half empty and leaked inside the box. Be nice if they could send a new bottle but I can’t get one without sending the whole thing back. Also can’t contact Mini Katana directly cause there’s no link. Hopefully they see this and respond idk.

Excellent starter kit for your blades
I have a small collection of (replica) katanas, and have used them as a starting point to create something of a Japanese theme in that room. While any good oil and microfiber cloth will prevent rust on the blades, what I like about this kit is how well it blends with the theme of my room. The storage case is ornate and the materials look authentic. Very satisfied.

I know nothing about Katana Swords, BUT!
My 11-year-old grandson collects mini Katana swords and I ordered this not knowing if he knew what to do with it. He said he knew about these kits but never used one and used it immediately. Showed me how beautiful it made his blades look. I personally don't care for weapons of any type in my house but my grandson is very careful and proud of his collection. I asked him what he thought of this kit and he said give it 5 stars because he chatted online with some fellow Katana collectors and they also told him the kit did a nice job on his swords. So I will definitely continue to order this for him when he needs more.
