FM works great. I used the included antenna on an inner wall in the house. Got all of my local stations. Easy to scan for stations and program favorites. That being said, I don't listen to the radio much so I'm going to take the antenna down and pack it away just in case I change my mind in the future. I was looking for a desktop CD player to setup in my smallish home office. It's also where I store and play my vinyl and CDs. The turntable and CD player are going through a Fosi integrated amp, with 2 Klipsch bookshelf speakers and a Klipsch subwoofer. The first CD player I bought was Syitren. It's a portable/rechargeable player that I used for my setup. It was OK. Sound was good for a small room. However, playback started skipping after 5 months. It wasn't constant, but an annoyance since the same CDs played OK in my BD player. Also some CD's with gapless tracks (like Dark Side of the Moon and Linkin Park Reanimated) played with gaps between the tracks. Also annoying. The SMSL failed right out of the box. CD's wouldn't play and even worse, wouldn't eject. I had to work with SMSL support to finally get the CDs out. Yup I tried it again with another CD after I got the first one out. Those players were 100/150 respectively. I decided to go with the Teac, which was over 200 more than the SMSL. I quickly found that was money well spent. The sound is fantastic. The playback is seamless. It's just well built with quality control. The remote works well, but I probably won't use it that much since it's within in reach of my desk. This also has an FM tuner, but I doubt if I'll use it since I use this system for vinyl and CD. This was definitely worth the extra money.
