Review: My Go-To White PLA+ - ⚠️ Keep filament dry and stored in a sealed bag when not in use. ⚠️ Avoid touching the nozzle or freshly printed parts while hot. --- I use ELEGOO PLA Plus 1.75mm White 2KG (2x 1KG Spools) a lot — and I mean a lot — and it never disappoints. This is one of those filaments you load up and just trust. My prints consistently come out clean, smooth, and sharp. The white is bright and crisp, which makes finished parts look professional right off the bed. It’s perfect for display pieces, prototypes, and everyday functional prints. What I really appreciate about this PLA+ is the added toughness. It’s stronger than standard PLA and doesn’t feel brittle. Parts feel solid in your hand, with just enough durability to handle real use without cracking. The dimensional accuracy (±0.02mm) shows in the consistency — no weird extrusion surprises, no random rough patches. Just reliable results spool after spool. Getting two 1KG spools in the 2KG package is also a big plus. More printing, less reordering. If you print often and want a dependable white PLA+ that delivers clean results every time, this one is an easy choice.
Review: String theory - I’m most interested in functional prints so I immediately gravitate towards the strongest filaments, and polycarbonate is well known to be one of the strongest plastics in existence, being used for things like bulletproof windows in banks. It’s also really pretty when properly printed. I’m still learning and dialing in my slicer settings, but here’s what seems to work. I dried the spool for a good 12 hours at 75c, straight from the vacuum pack into the dryer. PC is super viscous so a .6mm nozzle really helps. Use the textured build plate that came with your printer and a thin skim of glue, and print at the lowest possible temp, which in my case is 263c (3 above recommended minimum) and 100c on the bed. Turn your print and travel speeds way down. Adhesion is good with this stuff and I didn’t have much in the way of issues with the first layer. The problem with this stuff is that even with a properly dried fresh spool, a dryer, and my desert climate it likes to string. Printing at the lowest possible temp and turning your print speeds down helps, but the issue is gradual buildup on the outside of the nozzle every time it crosses a string. Eventually this turns into a big booger that may or may not damage your print. On one test run said booger got caught in a couple wall loops and dragged them off the print causing a blemish. I’ve gone so far as to manually remove the buildup with tweezers mid print, and with 100% infill and ironing of all solid layers, this means many trips to the printer over many hours to check the nozzle. I’m going to start treating my nozzle with PTFE paint and double check the nozzle height, and just maybe I’ll be able to run an 18 hour print without having to clean off the buildup. Now the good. Polycarbonate is one of the strongest plastics in existence. It boasts incredible impact and heat resistance and also takes a beautiful polish. It’s lacking in the UV and chemical resistance departments though so if you’re making a part that will be exposed to the elements or harsh solvents go with ASA or nylon respectively. Neither look nearly as good. A clean polycarbonate print comes out super shiny and resembles a brand new vinyl record. The last nice thing about this filament is the price at about half what reinforced nylon costs, and since I happen to have a centauri carbon printer I get to stay entirely OEM with this stuff. And I’m just getting started.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Filament!
*by K***S on February 25, 2026*

Delivers exceptionally clean prints with strong bed adhesion and a neatly wound spool that feeds smoothly. Surface finish is impressive, capturing fine details with ease, and overall part strength is solid for everyday use. As expected with standard PLA, very small or thin features can be somewhat brittle, but this is typical for the material. Overall, this filament offers reliable performance and excellent print quality — highly recommended.
