They're strong, and survived pretty much every bin-full of non-recyclable rubbish, sharp corners and all. Of course they punctured on some of those corners, but the punctures never ran or turned into bigger tears or rips. The only times we needed to double-bag was when we'd over-stuffed the bin and it needed turning out into a second bag. They've done two-years worth of kitchen bins, several "spring-cleans" and room clear-ups, and all the other things we normally *hope* our bin bags will deal with. If I can manage it I'll make these my forever bin bags. I might need to clear out a room to stockpile them in!
