Review: Very Special Capo - This is a great capo! I hesitated to buy for a few days since some of the reviews reported that this type of capo was difficult to clamp properly, causing buzzing and dead spots. I've had none of the problems above. The mechanism is a little different from a spring capo (which I've used up until now) but it only took me about three attempts to master it - it really is simple. Also this is easily the most effective capo I've owned. No buzz at all at any point on the fingerboard (well certainly not to the 5th fret - I don't ever clamp capo's any higher than this). But the real advantage for me is how well it stays in place. I play finger-style and when moving quickly up and down the neck it's easy to deliver a glancing blow to the capo. However faintly you knock a spring capo it will move slightly which can often cause buzzing as the pressure on some of the strings is altered. This doesn't happen with this capo at all as its heavier and doesn't have a spring or clamp grip sticking out. Also it looks great! I know, hardly the most important thing but this gold finish version just looks so good on the neck. This is quite a bit more expensive than your average capo. But the point is this isn't an average capo. It exudes quality.
