Review: Easy to use - Honestly I came across this product on YouTube when looking at other fire starters and was impressed with how easy the person was able to light it. When I finally got it I wanted to see for myself how easy it was to light. I used one of those survival bracelets that are made of 550 cord, have a compass, and have a striker and flint in the buckle. I am by far not an expert in using this material. All you have to do is cut a small piece off about a half inch wide or smaller if you choose, then rip it open a little so that there are fibers showing. All it takes is a small spark from a bracelet that I used, you could probably get away with using a spark from an old lighter that doesn’t have any fluid left. I haven’t tried that but I believe that would work. It doesn’t really matter if you leave the cardboard casing on or not. I prefer it cause it keeps it a little more centralized and burn a little bit better. Or it will help out a bit if it catches and has a weak flame, the cardboard will help ignite it a bit better. Depending on how big or small of a piece you cut it has an impressive burn time. I have started a handful of fires in my fire pit with this product. For all of the prep guys out there I would recommend this product, its tubular design would make it easy to store in your pack. It’s also really sturdy and solid so you don’t have to worry about crushing it. Unfortunately at the time of this review, it is no longer available. I hope that changes because I would like to get more.

Of the more "natural" types of fire starters, the Fast Fire Stick is my favorite of all including plugs, disks, whatever. You likely won't regret purchasing this product for camping, survival, etc.

**Q: What’s the difference between this and fat rope stick?**
A: The Fat Rope Stick is better in wet conditions where the tinder would also get wet AFTER you fluff it. It’s intended for hotter sparks from ferro rods, or firesteels…along with open flames.

The Fast Fire Stick is fine if it gets wet, but it’s just less effective if it’s wet after you fluff it. Fast Fire Stick is also slightly better in wind. Since it has finer fibers, it maintains a hotter flame in windy conditions…but that same feature also makes it absorb water more when fluffed. Fast Fire Stick also can be lit with a flint spark also…which is not as hot as a ferro rod / firesteel spark.

**Q: Can someone tell me how to store until use, can it be put in air tight bag so it wont get wet or does it need to breathe do to chemicals needed light?**
A: Procamptek Fast Fire Stick does not "off-gas" chemicals, so it doesn't need to "breathe" during storage. It has indefinite shelf life, so it is very forgiving on how it is stored. We recommend storing in a cool, dry place... much the same way you would do long term food storage or other camping gear. Much like those items, just store in a way that keeps away mold and mildew. That's all there is to it, really. Even in hot climates, some of the wax may melt at the edges and the packaging may age... but neither affect the overall performance and ability to ignite.

**Q: Can it be kept in a get home bag stored in your car during summer heat?**
A: Yes but we would recommend keeping it in a zip lock bag so the wax won't melt onto other objects in your kit.

Honestly I came across this product on YouTube when looking at other fire starters and was impressed with how easy the person was able to light it.
