Make sure they are facing top of pole. Put one side of clip on pole slide it up till you hear and feel the clip engage the pole. Then add the other side to it..done!! Decide where you want your shelves. Make the ring on the pole ..on each of the 4 poles and set the first shelf. Nice to have help but my poles are one solid piece 86" with 4' shelves and heavy. I am old, but I planned and I measured and after installing each shelf I took a break and did something else. I had to climb a ladder and I have bursitis in one hip...and yes I am a little bit crazy...but I got it done.
