The risk of food contamination from a fridge door hinge doesn't come into the equation at all. **Q: Would this be suitable to lubricate the pull off lid of a tin used for sugar and/or flour?** A: If the container is metallic you can use a drop of cooking oil. Silicon lubricant is used for plastics because oil based lubricants would degrade them. Eitherway, this lubricant would work fine **Q: Can I use this to seal a waterproof watch O-ring/gasket? Thanks** A: I doubt it as it a food grade one for coffee machines specifically to lubricate moving parts.
