I had a small job to do (front fender) and was out is paint gun primer and didn't want to spend over 100 bucks on a gallon of it. Decided to give this a try and I'll be dipped, it is the exact same stuff only in a spray can. Sprayed great, hardened great, sanded great, and took the paint base coat and clear perfectly. There was plenty in the can for the fender. Review: Good primer - Spray works great. So be sure to use it all when you are ready. **Q: Is this good for a bare metal gas tank ?** A: Not as a primary application. When painting bare metal, it is best to use an etching primer first. Etching primers contain acid with slightly eats into the metal and gives the primer and paint a surface to cling to. After using an etching primer, The Eastwood 2K is great as a finishing primer to prepare the metal to take the color coat, even if the final coast is clear. **Q: Does this need to be sanded or does it coat smoothly?** A: Yes, lightly wet sand with 400 or dry sand with 320 will work also. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding. *by J***T on June 5, 2022* I have sprayed my share of urethane 2K primer but it has always been through a paint gun.
