Targeted Genes:  MTHFR, C677T, A1298CEveryone has an MTHFR gene, and many carry mutations of this gene that are caused by an inherited MTHFR variant associated with a decreased ability to metabolize folic acid and folate. In some cases, people with MTHFR mutations benefit from supplementing with methylfolate, which is the "bioactive" form of folate that helps to get around issues with folic acid in particular.  Because these people have difficulty metabolizing folic acid, MTHFR support has been designed specifically to help those carriers of MTHFR "mutations" better metabolize folic acid to convert it into methyl folate which is itself an essential B vitamin.
