I heard that the show was bad but entertaining at the same time and I decided to just watch it and judge for myself. I honestly enjoyed the first season, even though there were a lot of hits and misses. There is only one episode I disliked and it was ep9 which pretty much focused on a character that wasn't part of the Torchwood team. But the rest of the episodes had a lot more highs than lows IMO. So I guess the best word to describe the first season is "entertaining". This word was used by a lot of people who don't like the show and criticize it too.Now, the second season has been FANTASTIC. I've seen the first 11 episodes and I love them. There are only 2 episodes that I'm not crazy about, but they're still better than most of the eps in season 1.This new season, the characters have developed and became much more fun. The whole atmosphere of the show has improved and the story lines are much better imo. It's definitely worth watching. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ No shame...just humanity. (And the rest) *by T***C on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 4 March 2008* Torchwood's great: it's a good mix of semi serious 'dark' (their word!) sci fi and fluffy fun with a generous dose of sheer humanity. ('tho those who bring this out aren't always human!) The much maligned (and celebrated) snogging between same/opposite sexes and aliens is a part and parcel of the whole series aim to present the bizarre within a very normal (Welsh) world. The snogging, the cameraderie, the Cardiff backdrop are the normal bit and I strongly recommend you allow your kids to watch it because guys do snog guys and gals gals and the sooner they accept this, the sooner the world will become a more pleasant place to live in. Torchwood Series 2 has been pre-watershed-ed to make it more watchable by kids and they've taken out some of the violence. I'm pre-ordering despite being only part way thru the series on TV because I applaud Russell T Davies and his team for making ground-breaking, mould-breaking TV within the genre least likely. Oh, and let's face it, JB IS eye candy! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good stories evolving characters *by R***O on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 on 17 August 2020* I enjoyed this series stories which are a bit more involved than Dr Who but in the same genre. .. so called"adult" themes in the story with Capt Jack being gay which will generate questions from your youngsters so keep that in mind, ,, it was an evolution from series one and improved.
