I cook tofu as well (for any vegans buying a grill pan) and it's great with marinades. **Q: Steak grill time?** A: Depends on thickness and desire of rare-medium. I like my steak Med/rare and maybe 1 1/2 β€œ-2” thick. I grill 5 on one side 5 on the other side. Pan is really hot when steak is out in. This pan does the best job on meats more so than any other pan I have. I love this pan **Q: Is this pan dishwasher safe?** A: Although it could be washed in dishwasher I would not. It comes clean almost by wiping with a paper towel and that means the surface stays in better condition. This is a chef grade pan so they are usually not put through the harsh detergent and dishwasher or shortens life of the pan. **Q: Can I use on electric stove?** A: Yes.
