Not just poor quality fittings and less robust but look like shiny plastic. Crazy given that the toilet seat was really expensive and the wood itself is great quality. You can buy proper metal aftermarket hinges for £11 so don't know why they have gone so cheap with original parts. Disappointing. The hinges are not straight and the seat doesn't sit on the toilet flat!

A: They are not plastic.  I thought the originals were metal but they snapped off so I’m hoping the new ones are metal

Quick delivery and good quality. Lighter colour than the photo shows. Like these seats so much I have now bought four of them now. Two dark and two light oak. The dark colour is very dark and the light colour is light. Good quality hinges with buttons to enable removal of the seat from the toilet for easy cleaning.
