## Description

This acid based, non-foaming final rinse is used by many brewers who prefer the non-foaming action for their fermenters, serving tanks, part soaking and more. Saniclean requires a contact time of 2-3 minutes. Effective for 1 week after mixing with water. This product is not recommended to use on soft metals, like Aluminum. Use 2oz of Saniclean per 5 gallons of water.

Review: Works great - This is a great product from what I can tell, I mean how can you tell that it does what it says it does? The only way I can tell is that the final product, in my case beer, is not getting ruined from contaminated equipment, I have never had an issue with a batch from using this. I like that is Low Foam, some people say it is no foam, but it will foam a bit if you shake the jug or mix it with he water with a stirrer or similar. No rinse needed after use is great. There is not more to say, a would like to see it a bit cheaper. Definitely a must have in your supply if you are a home-brewer of any kind where your batches is sensitive to bacteria's or contaminants.

**Q: Can this sanitizer be used for sanitizing jars for making vinegar & kabucha?**
A: Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, Saniclean can be used for sanitizing jars.

**Q: Is this a sanitizer or just a cleaner?**
A: This is a sanitizer, not a cleaner.  3 other answers say this *requires rinsing*, which is not the case. This product is a *final rinse* low-foam sanitizer - instructions say drain and let air dry. I've used it for years.

**Q: Can you use it in the dishwasher?**
A: I would not recommend that - it is listed as low foaming, but still too much for a dishwasher. Check with your machine's manufacturer for an acceptable additive if you are worried about sanitization...or just run hi-temp option.

**Q: Can saniclean be used to clean antifreeze from a metal container**
A: No

I contacted Five Star Chemicals about the color change of Saniclean. They did indeed change the formulation to a clear liquid (it is no longer blue/brown). I've always been happy with it; I'll be checking on the new formula's performance. Five Star, if you read this, you might want to chime in with some comments on the new formula. A question about the color I asked (in the Q&A section above) was answered by another buyer with the comment, "Saniclean is an iodine-based cleaner". IT IS NOT IODINE-BASED. It is an acid based sanitizer, similar to Star San, but different. IT IS NOT like Iodophor. Don't be confused. Hope this helps.
