I’m not sure why people complained about no hinge because it would just be bulky extra material and there’s no need for it. The bottom portion went on easily. I made sure that the locking mechanism was facing the front of the case and lined the bottom up with the top. Remember the case is $8 so it’s not the fanciest lock, but the plastic fits together in such a way when you press it down it won’t fly open. It’s very slim lined and doesn’t add bulk to the earbud case. I don’t know if I’d use the provided clip to attach it to a belt loop or my keys - there’s a possibility it could open without you knowing it -bye bye earbuds - and there’s plenty of carabiners out there that lock more securely. I’m very pleased with my purchase and as long as you follow the simple directions to put the case on, you shouldn’t have any problems with installation.
