It was described as "Piping approx. 3 mm thick" and I took this to mean the cord being 3mm, but it really is a scant 3mm. I ended up having to cover it with another layer of fabric anyway just to increase the bulk, so that defeats the object of buying the ready-made stuff in the first place and there are cheaper cords out there if I'd wanted to do that.
