There is an element of self-assembly once unpacked but as everything is self-evident and the parts simply screw together without hindrance to the wiring or lamp head it is difficult to envisage anyone having a problem. If needed there is an enclosed assembly diagram and a spanner for the tightening of one nut at the base.The light is adequate for reading, though being a halogen bulb the lamp head will get warm. The energy rating of the bulb is a D and that may be persuasive in one considering LED lighting. However, I have found everything perfectly adequate for my reading needs and taking into consideration the cost ( with free delivery) and ready availability of spare bulbs, I consider it a good buy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ nice neat reading lamp but I had problems with the ... *by M***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 March 2015* nice neat reading lamp but I had problems with the (very expensive) bulbs blowing every 3 months. Contacted the company and they sent me some of their own bulbs to try. These seemed to have the same problem but I noticed that the swivelling top part of the fitting was working loose and this was shorting the connection to the bulbs. Tightened up, the bulbs now lastting more than a year.
