    Bad materials cause staining from tap water - is this TOO biodegradable for filling with water?

My cat likes the wave design plus it's really big so the the water stays cool and fresh longer.What I don't like is that after only a month of only filling with fresh tap water 2 or 3 times a day (in the beige version) and cleaning with a brush in running water every day it still has become stained with a darker grubby beige, now the bowl always looks dirty.  It seems that the materials are reacting to the water in some way which cannot be a good thing - maybe these bowls are just too biodegradable for filling with water?  I have no confidence that this product is safe and regret my purchase.

I have a range of Beco bowls of different colours & sizes & love the ethics behind them. They are very long lasting, oldest one is about 6years, despite having dogs that like to eat moving their bowls around the floor & crashing into kitchen units. Even the bowl with a crack down the side keeps going. Once past their original useful life I will then compost them & buy replacements. Can't do that with plastic bowls. Highly recommended.

I bought this a few weeks ago and aside from being a bit annoyed at not being able to remove the glue that the label is stuck on with I was otherwise satisfied. It was nice and big and felt sturdy. Unfortunately, it's not as strong as it looks for despite the claim that it's dishwasher safe, the first time I stuck it in the dishwasher it emerged with a huge crack (see photo).
