It can go over gas range burner. It does come with separate lid cover with stand that can be used as shallow cast iron griddle. Pot is very heavy to handle and difficult too during heating stage. It should not be moved frequently over heating burner, all the adjustments to the pot and ingredients should be made at room temperature. Put the timer on for cooking and let the pot cool before taking it off the burner. Handle with utmost care. This is the only information available for this pot so far. Nothing can be said about heat distribution and cleaning.
