Yes, a bag is inclduded but I would invest in a good shaped hard case. The guitar sounds fantastic unpluged and pluged. This is no toy and definitely a professional instrument. I am primarily a bass player and one of my heroes, Stanley Cleark plays a short scale bass. This guitar is so comfotable to play and the sound is just a bonus...sorry to digress! **Q: Has the guitar got a slim neck?** A: Yes and very well made.
