A: There is no gate.  The balustrade fits around 3 sides of the loft opening.
The open end is placed where the loft ladder is attached to the loft floor for entry & exit from the loft.

A: Hi, the finished dimensions of the kit is 115 cm long X 73 cm wide and 100 cm high. Comes in kit form so can be made to fit with minor  adjustments, which I did and works fine.
