But give Mozzie a second glance and compare it to the competition. The fins are ply ($) not balsa or basswood. The 18" chute is ripstop nylon ($) not plastic or mylar. The body tube is pre-cut and stronger/thicker than less expensive kits. The nose cone is a nice solid balsa that takes and holds paint well ($) vs blow molded plastic that needs special primers and fillers to get it right ($$). Madcow has included flameproof chute protector and a kevlar/nylon shock cord (price out kevlar shock cord or a 18" ripstop nylon chute). The motor mount is held with plywood centering rings (not stamped cardboard rings). There is no 29/24 adapter included, but if you wish to use D12s and 24mm E motors, it's easy to make one. I recommend cutting it off about a quarter inch above the forward centering ring to leave more room for the chute. The 18" chute is a good fit for the rocket. It provides a descent rate of about 20 fps and its dark purple color is easily visible against any sky.When all is said and done, you need to be able to afford to fly this rocket. The blunt nose, wide body and giant fins create a uniquely draggy design can help keep the flights low enough for smaller sized fields. It flies on a very wide range of motors (many that ship without hazmat fees).
