They are also very strong, provided the upright has been correctly secured to the wall.The Watson uprights are deeper front to back than the competing systems which look the same. However if the competitor upright is spaced off the wall by a few millimetres then these brackets will fit there too.Fitting the bracket requires inserting it at an angle from above, ensuring the slot in the bracket engages the upright and then swinging the bracket down to rest horizontal. If the shelf is then correctly fixed to the bracket and close to the upright, it cannot be swung up or removed. I think this is a Good Thing from the point of view of Safety even if much less convenient for a quick height adjustment. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Job done *by K***. on 16 August 2025* Easy to put up and very effective for hanging shelves as long as the fixings are screwed securely ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent quality and price. *by S***M on 29 March 2017* Twin lock (spur) shelving is about as old as Des O'Connor; for the simple reason that it is simple to put up, cost effective and robust, if it works.......why change it. Not necessarily pretty, but very functional and can be installed in no time.These brackets, along with the associated rails are very good quality and as cheap as they need to be. I suspect there may be some cheaper ones about, but for what these cost I would not take a chance elsewhere. I bought the shortest ones to use with 6" board and theses 220mm ones to use with 12" board.
