The setting in this film is by far the creepiest of all the TCM movies. i really like the new characters in this film and for the most part they did a great job playing there part. This film gets 5 stars from me cause i think it does a great job bringing the series to a close. yes i do now that there is a 4th texas Chainsaw Massacre film but i saw it and hated it so i think that this movie is a great ending to the series. if you feel like checking out the 4th film do so but you will be disapointed in it.LeatherFace is the most intimidating in this film. He looks somewhat similair to how he looked in the first film which i really liked.What i liked the most of all about this film is that they had Ken Foree in it you know the guy in George a Romero's Dawn of the Dead????? For me that makes this film even better then it already is which is fantastic cause Ken is such a great actor. This film is wonderful and is my favorite of the TCM series withoubt a doubt.I am gonna watch this film like 100 plus times cause i enjoyed it that much.If you are a fan of the TCM series then you ought to check this film out.and now i leave off with this comment (All Hail to Tobe Hooper for making one of the best horror movie Series ever) Review: Fun movie, good documentary, and cool extras. - By now, you've read the storyline of this flick in the other reviews, so no need to repeat here. I WILL say that it's interesting to see how the film makers were trying to make Leatherface a more formidable killer than he was in the first 2 movies. He's less childish and not as skitterish this time around, and that makes him more intimidating. It's weird to see California doubling as Texas, but hey...you'll get used to that soon enough in this film. The documentaries are interesting and explain a LOT about how this movie came to be, the thinking behind it, and what worked and didn't. The impression I got was that the studio saw Leather face as another Jason or Freddy, and just didn't understand that he's very different from either. He has NO personality. That's the point of the mask. It IS his persona. They tried to make him into something he's not, and it didn't quite work. As a retrospective on early '90s horror films and the efforts that went into them, the documentaries are more than worth the price of this dvd. i find myself watching it quite a bit when there's nothing on the boob tube late at night (which is pretty damned often).
