A: Use a long serrated bread knife to cut them in half. 

I cut my sticks in half and as long as you cut one way (away from or toward yourself) you will be fine. 
Make sure to clean the knife when done cutting them all as the part of the cow these come from are not something you want remaining on your tools.

Very disappointed they look nothing like the springs I have always got before my last bag from you people had two of those thick things. What's up with that? My dog will not eat them. I just wasted another 20 bucks she sticks her noise up in the air to these and walks away. I have been buying these for her since she was a little puppy and she is not 5 never had this problem before. The ones I always got were much thinner. Never got these thick things before that do not look like the other springs. I'm sure these thick ones hurt her teeth. Every night when we go to bed she grabs one of her springs like a baby with a bottle she can't won't do that with these. I will not be ordering again. very unhappy customer.
