With lower caffeine than traditional green tea, it offers detox and focus benefits, sourced directly from trusted farms for premium quality. Ideal for hot or iced preparation, it’s a refined, versatile choice for health-conscious professionals seeking a sophisticated alternative to coffee. ## Description Houjicha is a roasted Japanese green tea with flavor notes of coffee, puffed rice, and cacao. Presenting a medium-roast profile, houjicha offers a less caffeinated experience than matcha. Enjoy hot or iced with your milk of choice. Matchaful partners directly with our farmers in Japan. Unlike most farms, our partner manages the entire matcha making process in-house for optimal quality control. By eliminating any middlemen, we operate with full supply chain transparency to ensure each batch of Matchaful matcha is treated with respect on its journey from farm-to-whisk. Our houjicha is made from first flush tea leaves grown in an organic tea farm community within the Tenryu District known as "organic valley." It's rich in antioxidants and l-theanine. Roasting turns the green tea leaves to a reddish-brown color, removes bitterness, and imparts the tea's signature toasty aroma. Add 1 tsp. of houjicha into a mug or whisking bowl. Add 2oz. of 180º water. With a bamboo whisk, create zig zag shapes in the concentrate until frothy and clumpless. Add 6 oz. of water or milk and enjoy, delicious hot and iced! Matchaful is a female-founded purveyor of premium Japanese matcha and active botanical nutrition. With a focus on quality, we hand-select ingredients to create nutrient dense products with functional health benefits and fresh flavors. Each Matchaful product is crafted with care to benefit overall wellbeing. Matchaful came to life from the personal healthy journey of founder, Hannah Habes. She previously worked for a heavily-processed food and beverage company, and her eating habits mirrored the company lifestyle. Eventually, this led to many health issues. Around the same time, Hannah was introduced to matcha—it was love at first sip. The energy she got was unlike anything else: alert, yet calm. She realized most matcha companies didn't offer origin visibility. Hannah had a vision to source high quality, organic matcha with a transparent supply chain and environmentally sustainable practices. She began importing matcha from Japan, testing over 100 varieties and Matchaful was born. Matcha meets botanical elixirs, plant-based snacks, and wabi-sabi philosophy in our experiential matcha wellness cafés. Matchaful is a female-founded purveyor of premium Japanese matcha and active botanical nutrition. To us, these two elements—matcha and botanical nutrition—are inherently linked in support of your daily ritual. With a focus on quality, we hand-select ingredients to create nutrient dense products with functional health benefits and fresh flavors. Each Matchaful product is crafted with care to benefit overall wellbeing. We work in direct-trade with a sustainably-operated, 4th generation Japanese tea farm. Matcha is traditionally shaded for the final weeks of growth. Innovatively, this farm uses solar panels for shading that generate power for nearby towns. Their plants are grown without pesticides and fertilized using organic compost from the local community. We ensure each batch of Matchaful matcha is treated with respect on its journey from farm-to-whisk. ## Features - Roasted Japanese Green Tea With Superior Taste: Experience the naturally lower caffeine, earthy flavor of green tea with toasty, chocolatey coffee like notes; Roasting creates its unique reddish brown color and removes bitterness - JAS Certified Organic and Direct Trade: Our premium Houjicha is JAS certified organic, sourced directly from our trusted farm partners in Japan for exceptional quality and authentic taste - Lower Caffeine, Same Benefits: Savor the health benefits of green tea with slightly less caffeine, making our Houjicha a perfect choice for any time of day and an excellent alternative to coffee - How to Prepare: Using a bamboo whisk, whisk one and a half teaspoons with 2 fluid ounces of 180 degrees F water in W or M formation until frothy; Enjoy hot or iced with 6 fluid ounces of your choice of milk - Direct Trade, Superior Quality: Matchaful is a female founded brand based in New York City since 2015, and we are committed to providing direct trade, farm to whisk matcha and houjicha, ensuring exceptional quality ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Asin | B0CHH9NP64 | | Best Sellers Rank | #99 in Matcha Tea | | Manufacturer | Matchaful | | Package Dimensions | 2.24 x 2.13 x 2.09 inches; 1.06 ounces | | Units | 1.06 Ounce | | Upc | 850038816148 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** MATCHAFUL - **Flavor:** Houjicha - **Item Form:** Powder - **Tea Variety:** Houjicha - **Unit Count:** 1.06 Ounce ## Images ![Houjicha Powder - Organic Roasted Green Tea Powder - 30g Tin - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71g+1aC0afL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Flavor Name, Size, Set name** options. ## Frequently Bought Together - Matchaful - Houjicha Powder - Organic Roasted Green Tea - Smooth and Earthy with Tasting Notes of Coffee, Puffed Rice, Cacao - Enjoy Hot or Iced - 30g Tin - Naoki Matcha Superior Ceremonial Blend – Authentic Japanese First Harvest Ceremonial Grade Matcha Green Tea Powder from Uji, Kyoto (40g / 1.4oz) - TANG PIN Matcha Set - Match Bowl with Spout and Whisk, 15 OZ, Matcha Scoop | Matcha Whisk Stand (Chasen Holder) - 4pc Perfect Matcha Kit for Matcha Tea Ceremony (Mottled Green) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/570002655-houjicha-powder-organic-roasted-green-tea-powder-30g-tin](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/570002655-houjicha-powder-organic-roasted-green-tea-powder-30g-tin) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-28*
