**Q: Mine is an old record no 3 vice with countersunk screws which is a whitworth thread - please confirm that these will fit my vice. thanks**
A: They will fit. My vice is a Record No3 at least 40 years old. Never checked if screw threads were metric or imperial, they were a straight fit. You could always use your old screws as a back up plan.

**Q: what is the spacing size between bolt holes?**
A: I have a Record #84 engineers vice, the jaw fixing holes are 3” C.- C  not 2 1/2”

**Q: I have a no.6 and want to fit some soft jaws, took the m8 screws out but they seem to be a coarse thread, maybe 1.5? What pitch are the screws here?**
A: Pending the age of your vice I think you might find the retaining screws are an English Whitworth thread. 5/16". Standard vice jaws are hardened steel,with a knurled surface for better grip,"soft" jaws are usually a clip over fibre faced jaw. Some vices can have soft steel or brass faced jaws as an alternative, these are usually flat faced. Hope this helps.

A: this isn't a question, but I am certain that the replacement jaws come with the correct size screws for the number 3 vice. The things fit so snuggly and neatly it is a pity I haven't done this before!
