I reasearched embroidered machines during our MO Quilt Shop Hop last year and this machine does everything I wanted it to do for a lot less than a machine I could purchase at a quilting store. Keep in mind most do offer classes but some still charge $100/ hour to learn the machine. I use my machine in Thailand with one and have not had any problems. The cost is about $150 the kind you will need. Get a good one or you will fry your machine. I also use a high end surge protector. **Q: Can other size hoops be used with this machine?** A: The NQ1600E Embroidery Machine will accept the 5 x 7 and the 4 x 4 hoops. I love this embroidery machine. I do mostly Fsl and in the hoop projects using vinyl. This machine performs beautifully. Great even stitches on top and bottom. Very easy to operate. Read the manual to familiarize myself with its operation. Very similar as my 5x7 machine but with slight upgrade changes. I love the wireless WiFi feature to send designs from my desktop computer to the machine. Great feature! Also cuts those annoying jump stitches. I don’t use prewoumd bottoms. I wind my own but I use an independent bobbin winder and I can fill the bobbins completely just like the prewound are. I highly recommend this beautiful machine.
