When it came, it was too big for both of my dogs. I notified the company that it was improperly listed and they promptly let us switch one out (I'm sure we could have switched both, but I didn't know what the small was like yet) and updated the listing. After receiving the small, I'm going to say that one should also be more like 23"-29" girth. The smaller one fits well on both of my dogs. The large one moves around a whole lot on both of them and doesn't look very professional. I'd say if you have a particularly small dog, search elsewhere. The smaller size would be good for most mid-size dogs.I took some photos of our dog's girth and both the large and small vests. The picture of the large with the tape measure is at its smallest, while the small is at its largest. The border collie in the photo is wearing the small size. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very satisfied with product and company *by K***S on Reviewed in the United States on April 12, 2017* After measuring the girth of my dog's chest at almost exactly 17 inches, I originally purchased the 17-21. The product came very quickly and was overall very satisfied by the design and to finally bring my dog out in public, but it was HUGE on her. Even tightened all the way it was hanging off.Fortunately, the company had no problems sending me a smaller size. They replied within a day after I emailed them and I had the 15-16 inch vest just a few days after and it fits her perfectly! She doesn't seem bothered or annoyed by it either. The only con to this product is it occasionally shifts to the left or right while walking (as shown in the last picture attached), but it's not that big of a deal, especially for the price.I have attached a picture of the vests, as you can see the 17-21 vest is significantly bigger than the 15-16 vest. So you may want to keep that in mind when purchasing and maybe go with the smaller size. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Reconsider ordering by actual girth size, if for a small dog. Opt for the smallest size. *by D***. on Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2017* Generally, an acceptable lightweight vest that signifies the animal's status, but sizing is confusing. My dog measured 18" girth, according to their measuring instructions, but he weighs 13.5 pounds and has soft, thin fur. I ordered the 17-21" vest. It overall was too large and fit too loosely. The rear, buckling straps were located close to the back end, so they interfered with his underside, insteading of buckling closer to his chest/abdomen to provide stability. Could not use the D-ring for leash because of loose fit of vest. If your dog is of small stature, consider going down a size, especially if it falls closer to the bottom range of girth measurement. See photos: #1 is smallest size. #2 is 17"-21" after I moved the rear straps more to the center of the vest.UPDATE: Customer service and satisfaction for this vendor was excellent! After contacting the vendor about the sizing problem, they were quick to respond by email. I was offered the choice of a refund or a vest in the next smaller size. I chose the replacement vest. It arrived quickly and was a much better proportional size for my dog, being much shorter in length down his back and less obtrusive and bothersome for him. The underside buckle still sits back a ways on his belly (closer to under his ribs), because the straps are still sewn on to the vest angling toward the back. The vest still has a tendency to slide around a bit on his fur as he walks, so we won't be able to use the D-ring.
