They have leather uppers which breathe and they are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. They have a gusset in the sides, so if you have a really high instep, like I do, they will fit. I cannot get my feet into a loafer without that gusset in there and so I just don't bother with shoes without them. Leaving the gusset out is just another way to cheapen the shoe for profit.
