It has plenty of acknolegment and self realization. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rebirthing *by S***R on September 4, 2015* I am studying a lot of alternative healing modalities and I though this book would be an excellent addition to my library. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 75% Lecture / 25% Kriya *by G***. on September 20, 2021* This is one of the largest collections of Yogi Bhajans transcribed lectures available, and as such it's a fine resource for anyone who draws spiritual inspiration from Bhajan's philosophy and allegorical, folksy yarns. Many of these lectures feel like curling up at the feet of the Guru and listening to his teachings moments before jumping up for a vigorous kriya. However, if you are looking for a book of kriyas to use for yourself or your students, it should be noted that this book focuses on the lectures leading up to the kriyas, rather than being a practice-oriented manual. I am writing this review in part for the benefit of those who might be expecting a more even blend of these two elements, as I was when I bought it, particularly since no preview of the book or its contents is available anywhere and the book is quite expensive to buy sight-unseen. One issue I consistently have with the KRI publications is that the price always resembles that of a university press, without any identifiable reason why this should be. Many other schools of yoga print their own material at unusually accessible prices in order to encourage the spread of the message, but Kundalini's gatekeepers seem to take the very opposite tact. In this particular case, an obvious contributing factor is the oversized printing of the book, where the font, margins, and line spaces are all pointlessly overgenerous, such that it seems that this book could easily have stand to have been made half the size, half the cost, and twice as sustainable. I do not mind paying for good-quality textbooks, but they need to carry a textbook's density if they're to command a textbook's price. Not exactly improving things is the book's photo quality, where the kriyas are being demonstrated by actual people in full white outfits, against a white backdrop, and printed on white paper. As you can imagine, the images are washed-out and unclear from the lack of contrast. The oversized print job tries to overcome this, but the images are still well behind the clarity delivered by the classic "stick figure" illustrations found in the small but potent ringbound kriya manuals from KRI, or in Guru Rattana's excellent manuals. That said, they are legible, but not without effort. As a long time Kundalini teacher I am usually looking for new practices, as the philosophical aspect is fed by the fruits of one's own practice at a point. As such, the series of ringbound manuals from KRI and Guru Rattan are more appropriate for my needs. I would also have held-onto this book had the kriyas themselves been clearly represented, but because of the low-contrast/ low-resolution photos I decided to stick with illustrated manuals. If however you are a YB devotee who would love to curl up with a big, dictionary-sized book of his stories which go on to illuminate certain kriyas, this should be welcome treat.
