I have a joint hypermobility and connective tissue disorder and putting neck issues down to tight muscles, but over the past couple of years I’ve developed unbearable occipital neuralgia and that’s led me to realise I have craniocervical instability which is pinching nerves. It doesn’t happen when I’m not working, only when I’m in a fixed position for too long, and I thought I’d experiment with a brace after finding that playing piano (with good posture) gives me some relief.This collar isn’t a substitute for treatment and physio but it prevents me from suffering the pain and fatigue I get when working a desk job, which tends to be resistant to any painkillers etc. I already use a support pillow at night but still often get overnight headaches and pins and needles in my arms. Wearing this at night has stopped that, a pleasant surprise. I chose this product over others as it comes in a small enough size, I’m a petite woman and most products are too big for me. It isn’t that soft or pretty, and looks basic and cheap, but I’m not exactly looking for a fashion item and it hasn’t irritated my sensitive skin at all.
