They can range from light to severe. Thats because Maca was never originally intended to be eaten raw because it contains a lot of enzymes that prevent us from digesting it properly. Knowing that my stomach is sensitive to digestion issues I looked for gelatinized Maca and trusted that this brand would work. The current title as of 07/22/2019 is "Organic Maca Root Powder - Gelatinized For Easy Digestion - 500g (1.1 Lb) | Vegan, Gluten-Free, GMO-Free Superfood, Perfect For Baking, Breakfast, Smoothies & Ice Cream by Dinavedic ". However after trying this for 3 days with symptoms of diarrhea and intense stomach pains, I was getting suspicious that it wasn't actually gelatinized. So I went to qualifirst's official website (google it) and found that in their own product description of their maca there was no indication of gelatinization at all. Furthermore the ingredient list only says Maca Root Powder, not Maca Root powder gelatinized! Other brands list their ingredients as gelatinized. The product description on the amazon page doesn't mention being gelatinized as well. Finally I called their head office (check their contact page) and talked to a customer service representative and he confirmed that the title was an "error". If you have digestion issues or are sensitive to digestive problems DO NOT BUY THIS. Look for a brand that is actually gelatinized.If you are looking for non-gelatinized Maca then I can actually recommend this product, it mixes well in a shake. But at this point its just false advertising.
