I have used it a time or two out at 40 yards and that is about it's max range. It replaced my 60 degree wedge. I use it mainly on approach shots where the ball is too far out and/or the ground to uneven to used a putter. It does not really swing like if you're doing a chip and run with a 7-9 iron. When hit properly, it runs right up where you are aiming. Slight backspin to break, I've noticed I need to hit harder in order to compensate.
