This book provides a unique and interesting look into flight helmets. Unfortunately, there is little background/descriptions besides simple model designation that accompany the photos. In addition, given the age of this book, it lacks information on modern helmets and sighting systems.

I've covetted this book from afar since first seeing it in the 90's, but have never managed to find a local copy since. I took a chance and somehow managed to get this and the companion volume for the price of one of these books on eBay. Outstanding value. I love this book and highly recommend it to anyone interested in military kit, or in the evolution of military aviation safety equipement and headgear. It is true geek porn! A true must own for anyone into cold-war military aviaition especially.
