They are solid and made of thick steel, although it’s hard to tell if the roller is plastic or nylon (I have another set from another manufacturer that is more obviously nylon, but it was much more expensive). I had to drill the holes to bolt it but a titanium bit worked fine. The rollers are easy to remove and remount for bolting, and there’s enough space between the roller and the holder for the bolt head into the wood.
