"well to those of you who are trying to make up your mind on which portable hi res equipment to buy …… look no further.1st : package came in less than 28 hours. i added next day prime for $9. very pleased i did.2nd : ibasso has a well designed shipping container. very neat and the bundle is a must. you cannot put together a matching package for less…. period. unless you are only using headphones you will need this stuff.3rd : dx 50 came fully charged out of the box. i removed the shipping plastic screen protector and attached 1 of 2 screen protectors they send.4th : plugged into my 2010 iMac and iMac recognized the dx50 and micro card, lickity split.5th : it took me all of 15 minutes or so to navigate HD TRACKS web site, download their software and have ZZ TOP, DEGUELLO and GRAND FUNK RAILROAD CLOSER TO HOME downloaded to the 64gb micro card.6th : once tracks download its a drag and drop to the dx 50 chip drive icon on the iMac desktop. you will see two drives. the dx 50 and next to it the micro card. if you want it to go on the 8gb internal memory drop it on the dx 50 drive . if you want it in the micro card then drop it there. when complete be sure to eject micro card first, then eject the dx 50.7th : ENJOYi tried to lay it out for you guys who have read about all the difficulty that everyone seemed to have with the fiio product. forgive me if i left anything out. it was one of the reasons i chose the ibasso product over the fiio. i hate frustrating software that doesn't do what it is supposed to unless you download all the missing pieces. why not make it easy. the dx 50 is just that ….EASY. the other and more important reason is the circuitry, the workmanship, and the ui. after holding it in my hand i am convinced, after what i read about the fiio, that the ibasso is a much better piece of kit. another really important reason is the battery. i can replace this if i need with a common battery. the touch screen is a little" touchy". but this is small change.now………. the SOUND…….wow, it is wonderful. from a sound standpoint no one will be disappointed. if you are, go back yo your mp3 files and listen to that hissing bag of snakes.i have happily owned a iPod classic for years. complacency has me moving in the same direction as every other human. plenty of music but none of it at the quality that the artist and sound engineers intended. make no mistake, if it was not mixed well it won't matter if you play it through $30,000 worth of high end kit. aside from that these guys at ibasso have got something good here or should i say "good to hear". i am using a pair of BOSE tp-1a headphones. they were $150 bucks a few years ago. they are decent pair i will be getting some SENNHEISER HD 598 open back. from what i have read its a smart match for the tone i like. i have had these bose all the way up and no disappointment. i couldn't get the sound to break up. clean. and the background is "absence of sound" not blank.i picked those two albums first for a couple of reasons, 192kHz/24bit files and 3 piece bands. without getting crazy to try and explain the sound….. it was literally bringing tears to my eyes. it may not have the tone for some people, but for me its spot on. and thats new, in 50 hours after break init will only be better. great bass, clear and clean, mid range voicing is outstanding, and high end frequency is crisp but not offensive even at max volume. this setup even with the closed back bose does not fatigue the way my iPod would. hissing bag of snakes. after 2 songs at volume all i could hear was ssssssssss. using the dx50 i listened to those two albums at or near full volume, took off the headphones and i had none of that ssssss or ringing in my ears. make no mistake though ….. it was loud. ok enough already, I've only had them 20 hrs or so. now i have to mortgage the house so i can buy all my music in 192kHz/24bit flac files.that brings up a point……. you will not find most of your music yet. there is surprisingly little available in 192/24. thankfully enough to get going.i couldn't find any hendrix in flac nor beatles. we will all have to wait till someone gets to the mixing room and gets to work. its like cds, when they first came out, all over again. that said i will be ripping my 250 cd collection to the highest sampling rate i can get.ok i will re -review this product in a few weeks and let you all know whats up.5 stars folks. thats my story and I'm sticking to it.thanks to ibasso, amazon prime, and all you folks out there that review product. for good and bad. its all
