Also, it was full of pepper when it was shipped, so the pepper fell out in transit and it and the various parts of the grinder scratched the stainless steel. All the pepper was just loose in the shipping envelope, but I wasn't necessarily planning on using it anyway - I'm more concerned about the damage to the item.
