Be aware that doublemint is NOT sugarless, in fact sugar is the first ingredient on the box. But compared to sugary gums, doublemint is not too bad. Salivary flow that is induced by gum chewing does have positive effects for your teeth if you chew one piece of doublemint for a long time. Otherwise it can be treated like candy and not be beneficial.

A: The flavor is mint.  Doublemint is Wrigley's tradename.

**Q: Is this the original before they ruined it**
A: Afraid not.  They screwed it up.  Not only do you have to chew 2 pieces to get one of the old ones, the texture is wrong and the mint doesn't last.  I have chewed this for over 60 years and loved it.  Then, just as you say, they ruined it.  I am sure it has to do with money as they quit the foil wrap and they started putting less pieces in each pack for a few years before they jacked with the perfect recipe and screwed it up.
