Seit 4 Jahren liebäugelten wir mit dieser Maschine. Der Preis ist für einen Privathaushalt heftig, aber da wir selbst bereits Erfahrungen mit einfachen Maschinen gemacht haben, wissen wir, dass ein frierendes Eis nicht einfach zu rühren ist und einen kräftigen Motor benötigt. Diese Maschine kühlt und rührt zuverlässig. Man braucht schon ein Eis mit sehr viel Fett oder Milchpulver, um sie zum Steckenbleiben zu bringen. Wir haben es bis jetzt nur bei Erdnussbutter-Eis und bei einem Rezept mit 100g Milchpulver auf 750 ml geschafft, den Motor zum Stocken zu bringen. Das allerdings erst, als das Eis schon längst fertig zum rausnehmen war. Andere Eissorten werden eher irgendwann als Ganzes vom Motor im Gefrierbottich herumgerührt anstatt dass er stecken bleibt. Auch das, nachdem man das Eis schon seit 10 Minuten rausnehmen können. Die Kühleinheit funktioniert natürlich ebenfalls einwandfrei. Mit gekühlten Zutaten kann man Eis bereits nach 30 Minuten genießen und dass selbst im Hochsommer bei 26°C Zimmertemperatur. Die Lautstärke ist ebenfalls vollkommen ok. Sie ist geringer als die einer normalen Küchenmaschine. Und sie schwankt mit der Festigkeit der Masse. Hat aber den Vorteil, dass man mit ein wenig Übung bereits am Geräusch hört, wie weit das Eis ist. Anders als wir es uns vorgestellt haben ist der Eisbehälter aufgebaut. Es ist eine tiefgezogene Vertiefung in der oberen Abdeckung. Oberfläche und Mulde sind also aus einem Stück. Man kann ihn nichts rausnehmen und separat spülen. Andererseits klappert so aber auch nicht und die Reinigung ist trotzdem recht einfach. Nachdem man das Eis so weit es geht rausgekratzt hat (wer tut das nicht?!), wartet man bis der Rest nicht mehr gefroren ist und wischt ein paar Mal mit einem feuchten Lappen aus und mit einem trockenen Handtuch nach. Durch die Konstruktion gibt es keine Kanten und keine Stellen an denen Reste hängen bleiben könnten. Was man nicht machen sollte, ist mit einem Metalllöffel in die Mulde zu gehen, um Eis zu entnehmen. Wir haben das einmal gemacht und schon sind Kratzer drin. Der mitgelieferte Plastiklöffel ist dazu besser geeignet. Nicht nur stabil, sondern auch mit genau der richtigen Rundung. Einzig zu bedenken: Die Größe. Es ist schon ein riesiges Teil, wie man auf dem Foto vielleicht erkennt. Anfänglich sollte es nach jeder Zubereitung aus der Küche verbannt werden. Wird es aber nicht. Es ist zu schwer. Aber vor allem: Es ist zu häufig im Gebraucht!
