After reaching out to their customer service, I was pleased with their prompt reply, and after answering a few questions, they shipped a replacement player within two days. I was very impressed with the service. As to the player itself, it is easy to operate and works fine. The earphones that are included are cheap plastic and sound quality is poor (hence the 4 stars), but I mainly use it with an external speaker, so the headphones don't matter to me. You could easily use a different set of earphones to get a better sound. I also like the option of using batteries or being able to plug it into a USB power source.
