I will say use a sponge and toothpaste to remove the problem to start. Toothpaste works very well to remove a lot of problems. Ink and pencil mask on a wall, toothpaste will just take them off without leaving a mark. This item you are asking about will be like a 00 Brillo pad but designed to clean the sharpener rods I have. I think there is also a liquid product at your local home store that will remove this. I think its WDR. (Dirty Word Remover) or try “Bartenders Friend”. Comes in a powder sold like Comet in the round paper shaker containers. Hope this gives you some ideas. **Q: What is the Superaser made out of? And what are it's dimensions? Thank you** A: It's made of a semi abrasive fibrous material and measures 3' x 1" x .5". **Q: Can it be used to clean diamond grit stones as well? Or strictly ceramic?** A: It does a superb job on a high end ceramic rock. However, I wouldn't use it on a diamond rock, it would certainly rip it to pieces and ruin it. They make brushes for cleaning the diamond rocks. You can buy about 3 or 4 of these brushes for under 10 dollars.
