I even had to leave out 1 platform and one center extension. If she ever claws through the material I can use these for replacements.She was a bit cautious of the tree since it does has some wobble to it, not enough to fall over, but enough that she was nervous using it. I managed to fit it up against the wall of the closet which gave it enough tension/support that it's very solid now.Took her 3 days to start using it to get up and down but now it's the only way she uses. Ours is an non-neutered male so of course the hesitation is did another cat use this and leave a scent our cat finds offending? That's the biggest risk we faced but the description said it came in it's original packaging so really, how much use could it have had?Upon receipt we found most of the wrappings in the box (plastic, foam, etc) had been removed and things clanked loosely. Not that big of an issue, really as all parts were present. It is in excellent shape and appears to have been assembled at least once from the imprint on the boards. But it's relatively clean. The base has some sort of white sticky-tac like substance but it doesn't seem to be harmful to the product or offensive to the cat.The cat, having decided the panels were good enough to sit on while on my lap, led me to believe it's good enough for him too. Assembly was really very easy and straightforward. There were no instructions in the box but we were able to figure it all out and have it put together in about 5 minutes with another 5 minutes fiddling with it to decide exactly where and how we wanted it set up.It's very narrow for our large cat. And it's not very padded which he's not too thrilled about. I've moved a food dish to one of the upper tiers to help him understand this belongs to him and is his space, but it really needs a bed on it to get him really comfortable. Our older cat isn't interested in climbing and jumping so the levels are spaced a bit too far for him. We have positioned it behind a recliner to make it easier for him to get to the middle tier so he can look out the window if he wants but he really won't go up to the top. I can easily see young cats racing up and down this thing, though, and it's sturdy enough for our large cat and a cat that might be even larger could use it to climb to higher levels.This tree is customizable; the boards can be turned and twisted to suit the needs of the household. It's part of the Easy Kitty building system making it even more customizable though at that moment I'm not finding it so easy to locate replacement parts (probably because the instructions were not in the previously opened box.) That's just one of the risks of a used item. But I do know that all of the Easy Kitty building system items are modular and should work together. And I will enjoy working this out with our cat.
